Concept to Finished Product
We are able to look at concepts from clients and transform these into practical useable applications. With technology changing rapidly our clients may not be fully aware of how, or what, technology can be used to implement new systems or transform existing ones.
We work closely with our clients, advising them of the technologies available, sit with them and define the functionality and useability for their concept, talk to the users of existing systems to detail the work processes. A detailed specification is drawn up and a proposal made on the way forward.
Development milestones are set to verify the development process and guide the process forward.
Testing and verification is carried out alongside our client to ensure the product fully meets their requriement. Ongoing technical support is provided to ensure smooth operation.
We are currently developing Android applications and utilities related to our key industry.
There are many ways to connect to databases, local content or web based content, we select the most approriate for the client. We have many years experience of interfacing to real-time devices, GPS, Video systems, sensors, measuring devices such as lasers and integrating these into a client defined real-time solution.
Typically our Windows based products are written using Delphi - a PASCAL based compiler - this produces a standalone executable program independant of third party drivers and component libraries, often a single file thereby simplifying installation. We develop applications for tablets particularly for field access where remote users connect to a cloud based database to extract data. Barcode scanning and QR code scanning are sometimes convenient ways of looking up associated data and this is used in our PETS product.
Recently we have started bespoke development in Android for phones and tablets, initially this will be porting some of our existing software to the Android platform.
NORD STREAM - AUTOMATED PIPELINE SURVEY QC SYSTEM
An automated QC system was written to take contractor supplied pipeline flags, events, video and bathymetry data and perform integrity and year-on-year comparisons, flag up sections where movement has occurred and ensure data is fit for engineering assessment. The system is written with SQL server to take the ~1,000,000 key data points from each year's inspection (full survey).
JEE Ltd. - AUTONOMOUS SURFACE VEHICLE COMMAND & CONTROL SYSTEM
ILEX have developed a command and control system for ASV's being developed by Intrepid Hydrographic Ltd. to survey Oil & Gas pipelines, renewable assets cables and perform site surveys, 'over-the-horizon'. A Remote Operations Centre onshore monitors vessel position, logs ASV position and acquisition statistics and can provide updates to survey missions over 4G/Satellite link. The ASV will operate within shipping lanes and around oil field assets using track guidance, AIS and obstacle avoidance radar for up to 10 days.
PHOENIX CPC - CATHODIC PROTECTION (CP) ACQUISITION SUITE
ILEX were commissioned to develop a CP acquisition package by Phoenix CPC . The package is designed to interface with their latest CP sensors for use in subsea CP inspection of pipelines and structures. The development involved real-time interface to external sensors, live graphs, probe calibration and database logging prior to exporting to a processing package.
MARINE OFFSHORE DESIGNERS - INTEGRATED RIGMOVE SOFTWARE SUITE
We initially wrote this real-time package back in 1998, designed to interface to various real-time devices such as Gyros, GPSs and acoustic positioning systems in order to provide live display information to tow masters and survey crew when moving offshore drilling platforms on to location. Recently updated to refresh the user interface and provide additional functionality and processing.
APPLIED ACOUSTICS LTD. - DEVELOPING ACOUSTIC POSITIONING SOFTWARE
ILEX was contracted to develop real-time software to interface to acoustic systems and provide calibration and positioning for their acoustic systems. Our SSBL Calibration software was integrated into their NEXUS system and the SSBL calibration system was sold to AAE and is provided by them on a standalone basis to third parties.
GAS SURVEY SRL - REAL-TIME GNSS POSITION MONITOR
We were commissioned to develop a monitoring system to detect GNSS excursions from a fixed point, automated alarms and email transmission was configured to alert all users of the systems to any excursions. Live updates, interfacing and plotting of excursions.
CORRINTEC SUBSEA CP ACQUISITION & PROCESSING
We were commissioned by Corrintec to write and implement a Windows based data acquisition and processing package for subsea CP Inspection. The system acquires up to 5 samples per second from a subsea control module and plots real-time data alongside historical data on a scrolling display. Also provides video overlay and survey system interfaces.
FISHSAFE - PROVIDING SEAFISH WITH SUBSEA HAZARD WARNING SYSTEM FOR TRAWLERS
“FishSafe” - Fisheries Pipeline and Wellhead Database Sub-contracted by Fugro Starfix to produce a standalone software package to run on a dedicated PC based unit, to display all pipelines, seabed obstructions, surface obstructions and fishing hazards in the UK North Sea. Audible alarms warn of nearby hazards, user interaction is provided with simple 3-button operation. The completed units have been supplied to all fishing vessels in an effort to improve links between Oil Companies and Fishermen, and reduce fishing accidents.
ROBERT WYNN & SON - CONCORDE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM
Our Columbus package was supplied to Wynns for both their "Inland Navigator" and "Terra Marique" vessels. These specialist vessels are used to transport large cargo items using the inland waterways and canals. The "Terra Marique" transported the first commercial Concorde from Isleworth on the River Thames to an aircraft museum in Edinburgh.
Our software was used to provide real-time information on hull clearance in very shallow waters and ensure safety and continuity of passage when the vessel navigated the river Thames to Isleworth.
The software package was an adaptation of our Columbus system and integrated a dual Tritech Seaking profiler with GPS and gyro to provide accurate below keel information.
